NUDA x RAW Artists

Visit our very own beloved NUDA at this RAW Natural Born Artists event in Hoboken. Gale at NUDA has been kicking ass on the metalsmith bench so much that you’ll just fall in love with every piece. Promise. Plus, it will be a night of all local talent focusing on fashion, beauty, art, and music. I’m upset at myself for not knowing about this organization sooner because their mission is wonderful.

Sneak Peek: Nuda Designs

Nuda Designs posted the above pic on Instagram as a little sneak peek of what’s coming soon to Sewbie.com! Exclusively designed for us, the lovely Gale – metalsmith extraordinaire – works with our favorite materials: leather, mixed metals, stones, and crystals. She does custom pieces too – her bridal pieces are incredibly romantic and dreamy. I’ve already reached out to her about a custom ring…SO excited. We’re hoping to get a little one-on-one time with her soon. More on that later. Stay tuned!

Side Dish

Currently obsessed with using dishes – plates, bowls, teacups – to stash and elegantly display jewelry. I wrote this post about using a card catalog for other organizational purposes and this new obsession is kind of in the same realm of upcycling. It’s kind of nice to give a new life to something beloved like a vintage heirloom plate passed down from your grandmother. I swear my future home will be filled with beautiful pieces that are multi-functional. Some inspiration:

And my own take on it – snagged this half dipped plate in the sale section of Anthropologie and immediately adorned it with my favorite jewelry from you guessed it…sewbie.com. I love the contrast of edgy metals on the backdrop of dainty pretty. Jewelry by Hello Again Vintage, Nuda, and Sewsephine.

Sewbie.com Holiday Wishlist

Ever since we launched Sewbie.com beta back in the summer, I scour the site every single day. You know, looking for things we need to fix, improve, add on… and…well…also for THINGS I WANT TO BUY. Here are my current must-haves, just in time for the season of giving.

Sewbie Holiday Wishlist

1. Rachel’s Knit Knacks Chunky Twisted Knit Turban

2. Hello Again Vintage 1980’s Geometric Arrow Enamel Earrings

3. Alex & Afton Vintage Fur Coat (sold out but similar here)

4. Oriana LaMarca White Clover with Tiger Eye Bracelet

5. Nuda Druzy and Carnelia Metalwork Necklace

6. Carolina Benoit Ivory Studded Collar Blouse (sold out but check out her line here)

7. Clo Hair Bows Chevron – Large

8. Sewsephine Wrapped Up in Studs Bracelet

9. Caviar Noir Princess Necklace with Crystal Heart and Metallic Gray Pearls on Gunmetal Chain

I’ve noticed that everything on my want list this season is in grayscale or neutral colors – black, gray, white, cream, brown. Usually not afraid of color, this is all kind of new to me but I’m loving it.  It makes it easy to create a look that is classic but with still a bit of an edge.

Nuda x Sandy Relief

Nuda, NJ-based jewelry designer, has been using her electricity-less days wisely and selflessly.

“With the purchase of this bracelet, NUDA is donating 100% of the proceeds directly to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief to aid victims of Hurricane Sandy. In a small, yet significant way, we can help make a difference that is needed right now.”
