NUDA x RAW Artists

NUDA

Visit our very own beloved NUDA at this RAW Natural Born Artists event in Hoboken. Gale at NUDA has been kicking ass on the metalsmith bench so much that you’ll just fall in love with every piece. Promise. Plus, it will be a night of all local talent focusing on fashion, beauty, art, and music. I’m upset at myself for not knowing about this organization sooner because their mission is wonderful.

Typhoon Haiyan Relief Collection by NUDA

The devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines hits us hard over here at Sewbie HQ. As Filipino Americans, our hearts are heavy but the outpouring of love and help from all around us is beautiful. One of these generous souls is our very own Sewbie jewelry designer, NUDA who has launched a collection especially for relief efforts.

Typhoon Relief Collection

NUDA is known for her use of mixed metals, gems, leather, and other natural materials. Her pieces are earthy, boho, eclectic with edgy twists and vintage influence.

Sneak Peek: Nuda Designs

Nuda Designs posted the above pic on Instagram as a little sneak peek of what’s coming soon to Sewbie.com! Exclusively designed for us, the lovely Gale – metalsmith extraordinaire – works with our favorite materials: leather, mixed metals, stones, and crystals. She does custom pieces too – her bridal pieces are incredibly romantic and dreamy. I’ve already reached out to her about a custom ring…SO excited. We’re hoping to get a little one-on-one time with her soon. More on that later. Stay tuned!

Throwback Thursday: At least two pair

Listen up kids. Way before Carrie wore bamboo earrings on SATC they were adorned by the ladies who pioneered women in rap – Queen Latifah, Salt ‘N Pepa, Roxanne Shante – to name a few. By the mid ’80s they were all the rage, sometimes donning the nickname “door knockers”. Almost 30 years old, they’re just one of those accessories that transcend time with some crossover in recent years, yet have always been a streetwear classic.

Caviar Noir Trunk Show Pics

Forgive me for the lazy blog, I’m trying to fight off the impending doom of seasonal sickness. Here are some pics from the Caviar Noir Trunk Show last Friday. More pictures definitely should have been taken and now that I look at them, I really need to start bringing my real camera with me and/or switch to the iPhone 5! Oh and if you didn’t make it to the trunk show, you can always shop Caviar Noir’s line at Sewbie.com : )
